FalalalaLOFT – Saturday December 14th!

Deck the Loft with boughs of Holly!

FALALALA LOFT LOFT LOFT LOFT LOFT.

Due to unfortunate circumstances (which mostly involve underage hipsters partying irresponsibly), we are NO LONGER able to have our wonderful holiday Hoover Dam Show at the glorious LOFT on South 5th St.

However, we have found a replacement space, thanks to our helpful friends at Mr. Rogers in Crown Heights (Falalalala Old-Warehouse-turned-into-cafe-turned-into-awesome-art-gallery-and-venue just didn’t have the right ring, so we kept the old name.) We’ve done shows here before, and it always turns into a good party. Portland Santa might even show up.

Hipster Santa is going.

The show will be a sparkling toast to the holidays, with collaborative performances and immersive experiences galore.

There will be a CASH BAR, FREE WINE AND SNACKS FROM 6-7, and an ART GALLERY.

231 Rogers Ave – Brooklyn NY.

For Locals By Locals

HDC_FLBL09

If you’ve been paying attention to the Hoover Dam Collective on Facebook recently, you may have noticed a multitude of posts regarding a summer show series called For Locals, By Locals, in collaboration with ECS.

What is this?

Well, the Hoover Dam Collective has been asked to curate this series of shows, pulling from our vast network of past collaborators while getting a chance to showcase new performers. The Event Connection Source, created by Avi Werde, is not only providing access to a large space, they set up the show entirely for us! Its a refreshing opportunity for The Hoover Dam Collective to get in touch with the artists again. We aren’t so busy running around that we can’t stop to listen and enjoy the talented performers that collaborate with us. It’s a good chance for our audience to come catch up with the administrators of the Hoover Dam, because we actually have a free moment to chat!

The events are 21+, and they feature clothing from Franklin Ave’s favorite vintage store, Cool Pony. ECS is also doing awesome feature articles on our artists, written by Alexandra Coffey. Here’s a great one about trumpet player Wayne Tucker.

The series is every Wednesday at 8pm at Mr. Rogers. (231 Rogers Ave. Brooklyn) Check out the facebook page for the series here.

In The Wasteland Just West of the Park

Friends,

On March 24th, the Hoover Dam Collective will beckon you to the land of vegan leather baby shoes and gourmet pet food; where everything you order at a restaurant has been grass fed and the sidewalks sing about the tantrums of toddlers. Take out a map and poke the gentle green polygon that is Prospect Park then slide that finger just a bit to the left and you’ll find the lovely

Park Slope.

Yes fans! The Hoover Dam Collective will be conquering The Fifth Estate bar, shown below on the map:

When:

MARCH 24th

6:30pm-11:30pm

with

Matt Siffert and Band
Cosmo D and Kroba
The Murmurators
These Animals
DJ GVY

The HDC dancers will bring that special bit of Hoover charm to the evening with their extraordinary dance prowess and resplendent beauty, of course.

This show is FREE, but make sure to grab that extra 20 bucks you made in tips at the coffee shop to purchase alcohol from the bar. Fifth Estate also offers some delicious things to eat so please leave that PB&J at home. (Some of us are allergic!)

We’ll be looking forward to seeing you at the show!

P.S. Watch out for the triple decker strollers and ignore the crabby old ladies coming out of the fluorescent Bingo parlor on your way there.
